We will have a dumpster in the town hall lot each spring, dates will be posted. Please do not put tires, hazardous materials, silo bags, shingles, or demolition materials into the dumpsters.

Our waste hauler as of January 1, 2014 is Harters’s Fox Valley Disposal LLC.

The trash and recycling service is every other week with collection on FRIDAYS.

If a holiday falls on a weekday, the normal collection day is delayed by one day.

Trash and recycling should be placed at the end of the driveway by 5:00 a.m. on the day of service.

Large items will be collected on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Residents need to call by 2:00 pm on Tuesday to schedule and pay for pickup. Cash, check, debit or credit cards are accepted.

Furniture, electronics and non-freon appliances are $25.00 each.

Freon appliances are $50.00 each.

Totes are available for rent from Harter’s. Trash and/or recycling totes are available in 95 or 65 gallon sizes. Annual rental is $35.00 per year.

Dumpsters are available in 2, 4, 6 and 8 yard sizes for both trash and recycling. Call Harter’s for pricing.


TRASH
All residential trash must be bagged and tied in white or clear bags ONLY, and cannot be larger than 30 gallons or heavier than 50 pounds. Trash can be bagged and placed in resident’s own container.

RECYCLE
All residential recycling can be placed loose or co-mingled in resident’s own container, or placed in a blue recycling bag. All recycle items must be rinsed out and caps removed. Cardboard must be broken down in 2 x 3 foot pieces.


The following items may be mixed together:

PLASTICS
Bottles, jugs and all plastics #1 - #7. Beverage, deli, yogurt, cottage cheese, bakery, pill, medicine and kitty litter containers. Clear ridge clam shell packaging, 5 gallon pails, flower pots or trays.

All containers must be emptied and rinsed out, with caps removed.

NO plastic grocery bags, plastic straws plates, silverware, drink pouches, CD cases, shrink wrap, plastic film, motor oil containers, vinyl siding, foam, or styrofoam (egg cartons, hot beverage cups, plates, packing peanuts/pieces).


GLASS
Food and beverage jars and bottles.

All containers must be emptied and rinsed out, with caps removed.

NO window glass mirrors, drinking glasses, pyrex, light bulbs, candle jars, ovenware or ceramics.


CANS
Steel (push partially attached lid into can) - NO empty steel paint cans.

Aluminum (do not crush) - NO aluminum baking pans, liners or foil.


PAPER
Newspaper, magazines, junk mail, office paper, paperback books, telephone books, catalogs, cereal boxes, envelopes (with or without windows), paper bags, hard cover books with cover removed.

Flatten all paper egg cartons, rolls, tubes and container board cardboard.

Flatten all boxes to 2 foot by 3 foot pieces or smaller and bind them together.

NO waxed paper/board, paper towels, tissue paper, foil gift wrap, ribbons, and any other paper contaminated with food, grease or oil.
